Types of Payment Options:
Credit or Debit Card
Just like shopping at a physical store, you’ll type in the numbers on the front and back of your card.
Best if: You have your wallet handy and prefer not to manage extra online accounts.
How it works: Simply fill out the "Payment" boxes at the end of checkout.
Shop Pay
If you see a purple button, that’s Shop Pay. It’s designed to save you time.
Best if: You shop with us (or other Shopify hosted online stores) frequently.
How it works: It "remembers" your address that is saved on your Shop Pay account and card. You’ll get a quick code sent to your phone to confirm it’s you, and you’re done in one click!
PayPal
PayPal is like a digital wallet that keeps your card information tucked away.
Best if: You don’t want to type in your card numbers or if you prefer using your PayPal balance.
How it works: You’ll be briefly sent to PayPal’s website to log in, then brought right back to us to finish.
Apple Pay / Google Pay
If you are shopping on your phone, you might see these options.
Best if: You use your phone for everything.
How it works: It uses the fingerprint or face ID on your phone to pay instantly. No typing required!
Why is My Address Incorrect?
Shop Pay (the purple button)
Shop Pay "locks in" the last address you used. To change it:
When the Shop Pay window pops up, look for your address.
Tap "Edit" or the small arrow next to your address.
Add your new address and make sure to "Set as Default."
Need more help? You can log in at shop.app to delete old addresses permanently.
PayPal
PayPal uses the address saved in your PayPal account, not what you typed on the Banyan Botanicals site.
Log in to your PayPal account.
Go to Settings (the gear icon).
Under Addresses, delete any old ones and set your current one to "Primary."
Apple Pay (iPhone/Mac)
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
Scroll down to "Transaction Defaults" and tap Shipping Address.
Check that your current address has a checkmark next to it.
"Address keeps 'popping up' when I start typing" (Autofill)
If your computer browser (like Chrome or Safari) is suggesting the wrong address:
On Chrome: Click the three dots in the top right corner > Settings > Autofill > Addresses. You can delete the old one there.
On Safari: Go to Settings > AutoFill > Edit (next to Contact Card).
"I see two charges on my bank statement!"
Don't worry, you haven't been charged twice.
What happened: Banks will often hold a "Pending" amount.
The fix: This isn't a real charge. This will vanish within a few days as the order resumes to get to you safe and sound.
"My card was declined, but I know I have the money."
This usually happens for a very simple reason: The Billing Address.
The fix: Make sure the address you type into the "Billing" section is the exact one where your bank sends your monthly statements. If you moved recently, the bank might still be looking for your old address.
If the address is correct, this is likely your bank declining the charge until they hear from you to confirm. Call your bank for next steps.
