We always recommend working with a practitioner when pregnant to determine which herbs and products are safe and appropriate for you. While many herbal products are safe to use during this time, others are not, and it's always best to err on the side of caution to ensure the well-being of you and your child.
In general, our balms are considered safe to use during a healthy pregnancy. For example, Joint Balm can support healthy joints during pregnancy, while Breast Care Balm and Beauty Balm nourish the skin and the breast tissue. Using either balm for breast massage can help facilitate the movement of any stagnation within the tissue. Beauty Balm can also be used anywhere the skin needs a little extra TLC.
A self-massage with oil can also be incredibly supportive. Just be sure to use soft, gentle motions, and discuss with your practitioner first.
For an Ayurvedic perspective on pregnancy, we recommend reading our Birthing Ayurveda blog series, which was written by MD and Ayurvedic practitioner Vrinda Devani. It has tips for self-care during pregnancy that you might find useful.
