Fair for Life is a globally-recognized certification program for fair trade and responsible supply chain practices in agriculture, manufacturing, and trade, which aligns with our core company values.
Fair for Life is more than just certifying the ingredients we use—this is a rigorous, full company certification, similar to our becoming a certified B Corporation, in which companies are held to the same standards as producers.
In 2018, we started working with the certifying body Ecocert toward our Fair for Life Fair Trade certification, and in 2020, we completed our third audit and achieved certification.
In order to keep our certification active, we must meet with an Ecocert auditor to do an in-person audit at our New Mexico facilities to review our supply chain practices, which looks at how we treat our farmers, among many other factors.
We must also demonstrate that we treat our own employees well and are making progress year over year to improve benefits including pay, health benefits, 401k, safety, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In addition, we must prove that we are making progress on our environmental responsibilities, such as reducing packaging, waste, and energy use in our manufacturing process.
We are proud and committed to participate in Fair for Life. Learn more about fair trade principles and what it means to supply fairly traded herbs.
